Video Specialists

China Radio International's English Service is looking for video specialists to self-produce short videos about various subjects for their online platforms.

Responsibilities:

Direct, film, produce and edit your own short videos about various subjects for CRI’s online platforms including the website, app, Facebook pages, Twitter, WeChat, etc. Shooting skills are of great importance; occasional reporting; expect to be assigned other duties as necessary, our team does a lot and members will be expected to pitch in.

Requirements:

•Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree

•English speaker with outstanding communication skills

•Ability to shoot video of various situations both indoor and outdoor settings

•Must know how to produce and edit videos under a strict deadline

•Social media skills, esp. in relation to Twitter or Facebook

•Ability to work against deadlines

•Flexibility and ability to work at irregular hours, weekends, holidays

•Team spirit and open-mindedness

•Self-motivated, positive attitude is a must

•Journalistic experience is a plus

Copy Editors

China Radio International's English Service is looking for copy editors for its website, news APP, radio news programs, and social media platforms.

Responsibilities:

Copy editing stories for the website, radio and social media platforms; proof-reading scripts by Chinese coworkers; occasional reporting and promotion; expect to be assigned other duties as necessary; our team does a lot and members will be expected to pitch in.

Requirements:

•Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree

•Native English speaker with outstanding communication skills

•Journalistic experience, good news writing and copy editing skills

•Social media skills, esp. in relation to Twitter and Facebook

•Intimate knowledge of current events and international affairs, particularly as pertaining to China

•Ability to work against deadlines

•Flexibility and ability to work at irregular hours, weekends, holidays

Program Hosts

Responsibilities:

Working primarily on our flagship news program “The Beijing Hour”, or the in- depth discussion shows “Today” or “Roundtable” or talk show “Studio Plus”. Successful applicants will be confident and authoritative presenters; propose and develop ideas; be able to carry out interviews; research and write questions; proof-read scripts compiled by Chinese co-workers; occasionally report in the field; and contribute to other live shows as directed. They will also be required to prepare material for our website, news app or social media outlets, and attend occasional promotional activities.

Radio Reporters

Responsibilities

Reporters will write and edit stories related to Chinese and international affairs. Book guests for interviews. Research topics independently and write questions for interviews when necessary. They may also be asked to participate in on-air discussions with co-hosts. This position also involves tasks related to new media, such as editing, transcribing audio, and social media posting.

Requirements:

•Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree

•Native English speaker with outstanding communication skills

•Journalistic experience, good news writing and editing skills

•Excellent presenting skills

•Intimate knowledge of current events and international affairs, particularly as pertaining to China

•Ability to work against deadlines

Radio DJs

Responsibilities:

Hosting and producing music shows with or without Chinese cohosts

Designing and producing related shows or segments for Facebook, WeChat, China Plus APP and other media platforms

Doing live interviews or field interviews

Attending promotional events

Performing other duties as requested

Requirements:

All applicants are preferably native English speakers with minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, and professional experience in radio/TV

Adequate knowledge of Chinese/Asian music, in addition to familiarity with Pop, AC, Blues, Country, Jazz and other easy listening genres of Western music.

Ability to work against deadline;

Flexibility to work at irregular hours, weekends and holidays;

Team spirit and open-mindedness.
