The expansion of Liu Fang Yuan or Garden of Flowing Fragrance in Southern California's San Gabriel Valley was completed after 14 years of construction.

Combining the beauty of nature with the expressiveness of literature, the garden is regarded as one of the largest classical Chinese gardens outside of China.

"China is one of the world's great early garden cultures. So the idea of representing the history of garden culture without completely including Chinese garden history is ridiculous," said Jim Folsom, director of the Huntington's Botanical Gardens.

First opened to visitors in 2008, Liu Fang Yuan has become the largest garden in the botanical gardens, occupying 4.9 hectares of land.
