If you want to see the famous cherry blossoms of Washington DC this year, now is the time to check out the National Cherry Blossom Festival that started back on March 17th. This month the blossoms have reached their peak, which means 70 percent of the blossoms are open, according to the National Park Service. Each year, the National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to the city of Washington, DC.[Photo: IC]
