Jilin Animation makes a big impact, and a new wetlands park to open in Harbin

Have you heard about the Jilin Animation Institute? Well, it's also known as JAI and it was founded in June, 2000. The Jilin Animation Institute is actually a multi-award winning education college with has been recognized in China and around the world. JAI has already won China's most prestigious award from the Chinese animation industry, it's called the 'Golden Monkey King Award', and on the international scene the institute's honor's include the 'Best Film Award' from the 14th Japanese Hiroshima International Animation Festival, and the 'Red Dot Award' from Germany.

At present, JAI has 11 branch schools, including a school of animation arts, a school of video games, and design school and a school of television and new media to name a few. The college enrolls new students from around China, and it currently has about 12,000 students. After graduation from JAI graduates have found employment in various areas of the animation industry including digital media, video games, and mass media. A large number of JAI's graduates work with high profile animation companies both in China and abroad.

Yesterday, I had the honor of visiting the JAI campus to check out the college, and also the Jilin Animation Institute History Museum, which features many interesting displays, original cartoon drawings and new media presentations. If you are a fan of comic books or cartoons, I think you would really enjoy seeing this fascinating museum. Tomorrow, I will be checking out one of China's biggest fountains, and I'll be heading out to the airport to see a new business development.

The City of Harbin in Heilongjiang Province has a very distinctive nickname, it's known as Ice City! That's because Harbin hosts one of the world’s most popular ice and snow festivals during the winter months. Harbin also attracts lots of tourists in the summer time. As there are many unique tourist attractions, which includes the scenic Songhua River, the vibrant downtown area called Central Avenue and a brand new natural green area which soon to be opened. The Qunli Stormwater Wetlands Park is in Daoli district and features sturdy timber walkways spread over a large area where the scenery was absolutely breathtaking! The China-friendly Netizens' Group was invited to view the wetlands park on a beautiful sunny day before the official opening. We strolled in the park enjoying a beautiful park surrounded by lush plant life and local bird life. The Qunli Stormwater Wetlands Park is expected to open on October 1st which is China's National Day.
