Li Lailai has been conducting research on policies related to environmental protection since 1994. She is an expert at low-carbon and environmental protection who has participated in lots of international meetings and has visited many countries. Li’s devoted to introducing concepts of sustainable development to China. She thinks that everything we consume will eventually become trash if we fail to be aware of recycling them.

The biggest blow Li Lailai has suffered in her life was the death of her husband. Her husband always supported her career. He was willing to make efforts of his own. He thought technology could create unlimited potential for sustainable development. After he passed away, Li decided to continue to support Green Startups.

Li’s son went to study in the United States in 2006. So she now lives with her elder sister who has Alzheimer’s disease and can’t live on her own. Although it seems like she’s taking care of her sister, she’s actually her companion at home. They hired a housekeeper. The three of them live together. They’ve always stuck to the principles of living a simple life. Li Lailai thinks that it’s important for seniors to take part in public welfare activities, especially those focusing on environmental protection. They can add value.
