Schools in Beijing have been working hard to enhance drama education. They are staging a series of drama performances to highlight the achievements of their students who take part in drama education.
Most of the performances were developed as part of events celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, with patriotism, Chinese traditional culture and core socialist values as the main themes.
The China National Theatre for Children helped in coaching these young performers.
The programme was founded in 2017 by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and the China National Theatre for Children. It has now developed into an annual event and has received the attention of the Beijing educational authorities.
The China Publishing Group offers books about the growth of the Communist Party of China, including "The Long March" and "Railway Guerrilla", which the theatre used in creating dramas.
