In 2012, a young netizen whose screen name was known to the public as "Zoufan", dropped a bombshell on Chinese social media.

On the morning of March 18th, on Sina Weibo, China's Twitter-like micro-blogging site, this undergraduate student posted her final note. Several hours later, local police confirmed that Zoufan had passed away. The 23-year-old had ended her life on her own terms.

Inspired by the tragedy of this young student, we present to you the radio drama, Out of the Blue.

Here, we would like to wish everyone who is fighting his or her black dog of depression to find courage and inspiration.

Written and directed by Li Shiyu.

Cast (in order of appearance):

Meimei by Wu You;

Professor by Lin Shaowen;

Bank manager by Li Ningjing;

Shane Bigham, Linda Mills, Zhou Jingnan, and Paul James read the news and Nillah Nyakoa voices the police officer. The online noises are voiced by Zhou Heyang, Ryan Price, Lincoln Westhuizen along side Wang Lei.

Out of the Blue was first broadcast on Studio+ on June 2, 2017.
