Film Festival kicked off on Sunday at Yanqi Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center, gathering a star-studded lineup on the red carpet. More than 300 events - including forums, premieres, and trade fairs - will be held in the week for the festival, which ends on April 22. The film fest is expected to hand out The Tiantan Awards later in the week.

Li Ningjing and Ken Smith spoke to Ms. Geng Ling, CEO of China Film Assist, who's attending the film fest.

This interview discussed:

1. Is there anything exciting about this year's fest?

2. Are there any forums or events at this year's festival that you are particularly interested in?

3. Discussion of VR technology in film making is included in this year's fest. There's a digital cinema technology forum this year. China Film Assist helps with the post production of a lot films. What do you think of this trend?

4. At the opening ceremony, directors of the three Chinese box office leaders got on the stage together. How do you look at Chinese films created over the year?

5. Jonathan Mostow, the Hollywood action director said "the Beijing festival is a venue for different cultures from all over the world to communicate, and it will long inspire filmmakers, including him." Since its launch, the festival has seen robust exchanges about co-production films at every festival. Do you think there will be more collaborated films and co-production in the future?

6. Last year, we watched The Great Wall. We've had Kungfu Panda3, which has been positively received worldwide. What's going to be the form of cooperation in the future? What's the trick for successful cross-culture co-production films?
