How do Chinese people celebrate Duanwu festival?

The Dragon Boat Festival, also called the Duanwu Festival, is celebrated on the fifhth day of May according to the Chinese lunar calendar. For thousands of years, Chinese people celebrate this traditional festival by eating Zong Zi and holding dragon boats races. Zong Zi is a delicious dessert made by glutinous rice wrapped to form a pyramid using bamboo or reed leaves. 

There are various flavors when it comes to Zong Zi, which can be roughly classified into sweet ones or savory ones. Northern Chinese people like sweet Zongzi, but people who are from south part of China hold different opinions.
