Becky Ances on living in Xiamen

American national Becky Ances may not be a big fan of metropolises like Beijing and Shanghai but is so in love with their much smaller counterparts like the coastal city of Xiamen, where she has been living for the last four years. 

In China, it's common to come across expats like Becky who prefer to live in smaller places in the country perhaps due to their more authentic representation of the country’s culture, unlike in big cities where old traditions and beliefs appear to be diluted. 

This week, Nillah Nyakoa gets an insight into Becky’s life as an expat living in Xiamen to find out what makes it a perfect place to immerse oneself in the local culture.
