Grammy award winner Pharrell teamed up with Chinese Canadian singer Kris Wu to perform an original song called “Happy Double 11.” He also sang the classic Chinese song "In That Distant Place" with renowned classical pianist Lang Lang and Chinese singer Karen Mok.

British singer-songwriter Jessie J performed her first number-one single "Price Tag," an ironic song choice for the world’s biggest online shopping festival.

NBA star LeBron James, retired FIFA World Player of the Year Luís Figo, supermodel Lais Ribeiro, and famous Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi also attended the party.

The grand finale included Hollywood star Nicole Kidman along with Jack Ma, CEO of Alibaba Group.

An eight-minute version of "Gong Shou Dao," Jack Ma’s debut movie, was screened, and stars of the kung fu film, Jet Li, Donnie Yen and Wu Jing, also attended.

Alibaba holds the gala every year to celebrate the Double 11 online shopping festival.

Sales figures showed 100 million transactions were processed within 7 minutes, 23 seconds on Alibaba’s flagship Tmall e-commerce platform at this year’s shopping spree; that is equal to the total number for the entire day during the shopping festival in 2012.
