High-end Chinese technology firm Oppo has launched its latest mobile phone model, the Find X, in Paris.

Featuring superfast processing speeds, sleek styling and a motorised pop-up camera, the Find X has been greeted as a genuine iPhone X rival – with a price tag to match.

China's smartphone manufactures have been making clear efforts to target European consumers in recent months.

Indeed, the Find X becomes the second premium device to launch in Europe – rather than China or the USA – in 2018.

The first was the OnePlus 6 which was revealed in London in May.

1,000 tickets were made available for members of the public to attend the lauch event, for the price of £30 each.

In return, as well as being the first consumers to see the OnePlus 6, attendees were given gift hampers and a voucher to spend on products.

This year has also seen Xiaomi offer its devices for sale in the UK, Denmark and Ireland on the popular Three network, owned by Hutchinson.

Despite being the world's fourth largest mobile phone manufacturer, Xiaomi has maintained only a very small presence in the European market to date, having launched operations in Spain late last year.
