The Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, COMAC, has announced on Tuesday that it has signed a letter of intent with HNA Group to sell it 20 ARJ21 regional passenger planes.

This brings the total number of ARJ21 orders to 473 globally.

The signing ceremony, held during the 51th Farnborough International Airshow, marks the latest development between COMAC and HNA Group after the two signed a strategic cooperation agreement in June.

The 20 ARJ21's will be delivered to the subsidiary of HNA Group, Urumqi Air, the only local air company operating in Xinjiang.

The Farnborough International Airshow also gave visitors a chance to experience flying an ARJ21 through virtual reality.

Later this month will mark the two year anniversary of the ARJ21 being put into commercial service. The Chinese-built jetliner recently serviced its 100,000th passenger.
