Among the top five companies, three are from China. American supermarket chain Walmart has taken the top spot for the fifth year in a row.

The company that has climbed the list faster than the others also hails from China. China Energy Investment now ranks 101, rising up the rankings by 175 places compared to last year.

All of the real estate companies that made the list hail from China, including Evergrande Group, Greenland Group and Vanke.

When it comes to Internet industry companies, JD.com took the 181st spot, well above the other well-known Chinese tech companies Alibaba (300), Tencent (331), and Suning (427).

America's auto industry was represented by General Motors and Ford, while China had seven auto makers listed. Of the seven Chinese manufacturers, Geely Auto was the only private auto maker. The company achieved a new sales record of over 1 million units for the first time last year.
