China has applied to the World Trade Organization (WTO) on Tuesday to impose 7 billion USD a year in sanctions on the US in retaliation for Washington's non-compliance with a ruling in a dispute over US dumping duties.

It's the first time China has asked for permission to retaliate for a different country's failure to comply with a dispute ruling since joining the WTO in 2001.
