BYD has unveiled what it claims is the world's longest electric bus, the model K12A. The bus, which was launched in Shenzhen on Sunday, is 27 meters long and can carry up to 250 people at speeds of up to 70 kilometers an hour.

The bus can switch between two and four-wheel drive depending on the terrain, which helps to reduce its energy usage.

The new bus is headed for Colombia where it will become part of a rapid transit system.
