26 China A shares to join MSCI China Index

Twenty-six Chinese A shares will be added to the MSCI China Index, 18 of which are ChiNext stocks, revealed MSCI, the world's biggest index compiler.

The weighting of 238 existing Chinese shares on MSCI are also going to be increased from 5% to 10%, according to the index compiler.

MSCI has already announced its intention to increase the weight of China A shares in MSCI Indexes from 5% to 20% in three steps.

MSCI says its China A Mid-Cap index will also have 29 additions and 5 deletions, bringing the Mid-Cap index to 173.

The company also says there are 109 additions to and 3 deletions from the MSCI China A Onshore Index.
