China Post opens new direct mail service to U.S.

The Shanxi subsidiary of China Post Group in north China's Shanxi Province has opened a direct mail service linking the provincial capital of Taiyuan with Chicago in the United States.

Shanxi has witnessed a rapid increase in international mail. In the first eight months of this year, the province reported a total of 1.3 million post mail delivered to the United States.

The new postal service will be operated by three flights a week on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday to reduce the mail delivery time from Shanxi to the United States by more than two days.
