Shanghai Tower, China's tallest building and the world's 2nd tallest behind the Burj Kalifa in Dubai, has opened its observation deck on the 118th floor of the building, reports ThePaper.cn.

At 546 meters above the ground, and encompassing one-thousand square meters, the observation deck allows people a 360-degree view of Shanghai.

Visitors are whisked to 118th floor on a high-speed elevator which takes only 55-seconds to reach the observation deck.

Before entering the elevator, visitors also walk through an interactive display showing the history of tall-building construction around the world, as well as the process used to build the Shanghai Tower.

The 632-meter high Shanghai Tower, designed by international design firm Gensler, is now Shanghai's tallest building, surpassing the Jin Mao Tower and the Shanghai World Financial Center.
