A rare bird has been rescued by staff at a hotel in Shishi City, in southeast China's Fujian province, after it was knocked out when it flew into a glass wall.

A staff member heard the noise of the collision and rushed to find the bird unconscious. Members of the local forestry administration were called to the hotel and found it was a rare brown hawk-owl, a second class nationally protected animal in China.

The brown hawk-owl got good care. After its recovery, it was released back into the wild.
