Two dead, 25 hospitalized in China chlorine leak
Two people were killed and 25 others hospitalized in a chlorine leak in north China's Hebei province early on Saturday morning.
The accident happened at 3:35 a.m., at Lixing rubber plant near Sunguozhuang village of Hejian city less than 200 kilometers away from Beijing, poisoning residents of the village and those nearby.
Five seriously injured people are being treated in intensive care units, according to the city government.
Source of the leak has been blocked. Chlorine is used in rubber production in the plant.
Further details and cause of the accident are under investigation.
