With just three weeks to go till this year's College Entrance Examination, known as the Gaokao, the students were comparing notes at their commencement ceremony at the International Department of Hefei No.1 High School.

30% of the students received offers from the top 30 universities in the U.S., with 92% getting offers from the top 50 schools, such as Smith College, Cornell University, the University of California, Berkeley, etc.

One student, Wu Runkun, says he received six admission letters this semester. He said the achievement wasn't easy, and that he'd had to prepare at least six months ahead before applying for these schools.

But the hard work has only just begun. Wu also said he believes Chinese students who study in the U.S. may struggle to fit in due to the differing education styles between China and the United States.

Apart from the United States, the 109 'super scholar' students also received offers from universities in other countries, including Australia and Canada.
