Myanmar Armed Forces welcome China donated trains

A consignment of trains from China to Myanmar’s armed forces has been handed over at a special ceremony in Naypyidaw, reports CRI Online.

Speaking at the event, the Chinese ambassador to the country, Hong Liang, said he hoped the donated facilities would improve the strength of Myanmar’s armed forces, and stressed the great importance of the relationship between the two countries.

For the ceremony, the ambassador was joined by senior Myanmar General Min Aung Hlaing, and the current commander-in-chief of the Myanmar Armed Forces, Vice-Senior General U Soe Win.

“China has the longest borderline with Myanmar. The armies of the two countries have been maintaining a good relationship, which has been fully embodied by the donation,” said Nyu So from the Myanmar Armed Forces.

The Chinese People's Liberation Army has supplied two train locomotives, 10 train carriages with capacity of 68 passengers, and 10 freight train carriages with the load capacity of 32 tons.
