China unveils its new high-speed train 'Fuxing'

China has unveiled a series of safer, faster and more comfortable high-speed trains.

The 'Fuxing' range, capable of speeds of up to 400 km/h, will debut on the Beijing to Shanghai route on Monday, reports People's Daily.

Translated as 'Revival', the train has been wholly designed and manufactured in China, which holds the complete intellectual property rights. 

Each train is equipped with a sophisticated monitoring system which will constantly check its performance, and automatically slow down or brake the train in case of emergencies or abnormal conditions.

A control centre will also be able to monitor the running of the train in real time, thanks to a remote-data-transmission system. The train is also equipped with WiFi and power sockets for passenger convenience.

The aerodynamic design of the train body not only saves energy, but will also decrease noise inside the carriages.

The pace of high-speed train development in China has been rapid since the release of the first CRH series in 2004.

As of the end of 2016, there were 22,000 miles of high-speed track in China, about 60 percent of the world's total.

Taking a high-speed train has become a major transportation choice for Chinese people with the total number of passengers surpassing 6 billion.

High-speed trains have also become a major export for China thanks to their advanced technologies, acknowledged reliability and low cost. Projects using Chinese high-speed trains can be seen in Asia, Europe, North America and Africa, with the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway in Indonesia, China-Laos railway and Sino-Thai railway all progressing successfully.

The debut of the 'Fuxing' class high-speed train is expected to further cement China's dominance in the industry, and strengthen exports around the world.
