Two medical staffers at a hospital in the city of Yulin, northwest China's Shaanxi Province, have been suspended, and the hospital has been ordered to reform its administration and services, in the wake of the death of a pregnant woman at the facility.

The 26-year old woman jumped to her death on August 31 after arriving to give birth the day before. Her unborn child also died in the incident.

A local investigation panel, made up of health and public security officials, has found the hospital at fault for not properly caring for the woman.

The panel has determined the hospital was not responsive enough to the woman's pleas that she be allowed to have a C-section to deliver her child.

It's been suggested the woman's labor pains are what drove her to jump from a 6th story window to her death.

However, hospital officials have denied the reports. They claim the woman's husband never consented to the procedure. The victim's family claims they twice gave permission for doctors to go ahead with the C-section.

The hospital administration has released video footage - without audio - appearing to show the pregnant woman pleading with her family to allow her to have the C-section.

The incident has sparked widespread debate on the Internet in China.
