30-car pile-up leaves 18 dead in east China

At least 18 people have been confirmed dead and 21 others injured after a pile-up accident in Anhui.

Authorities say over 30 vehicles collided on Wednesday morning on an expressway section in Fuyang City.

Several vehicles later caught fire.

Of the injured, 11 are in serious condition.

Officials say the area was shrouded by heavy fog when the accident took place.
