India's Manushi Chhillar was crowned Saturday at Miss World 2017 in south China's Hainan Province.

Alma Andrea Meza Carmona, representing Mexico, and Stephanie Jayne Hill, representing England, finished in second and third places, respectively, at the 67th competition held in Sanya City. Miss China Guan Siyu made it in the top 40.

Stephanie Del Valle, Miss World 2016, congratulated Manushi on her win.

The Miss World contest was created in 1951, and has become one of the most influential beauty pageants in the world. Zhang Zilin, representing China, was appointed Miss World 2007, becoming the first Chinese ever to win at a major international beauty pageant.
