Pets now allowed in passenger cabin on some Hainan Airlines flights

Passengers now are permitted to travel with their pet in the passenger cabin on some flights operated by Hainan Airlines, thepaper.cn reported.

According to the new regulation, a passenger may carry no more than one pet, with a limit of two pets per flight.

Passengers need to complete an application 24 hours prior to the flight departure providing the certificates that prove the animal is vaccinated and has passed quarantine inspection.

Animals must be contained separately in a cage placed in front of the passenger's seat, and a fee of 800 yuan (around 125 USD) per animal applies.

The cage must be within a size limit of 35cm in length, 28cm in width and 24cm in height, and the combined weight of the pet and cage must not exceed five kilograms.

Hainan Airlines will offer the service on domestic direct flights departing from nine cities, namely Guangzhou, Qingdao, Changsha, Kashgar, Xiamen, Haikou, Ji'nan, Shenzhen, and Hefei.
