A report issued by the CCA shows bike-sharing companies' failure to refund users' deposits has sparked nationwide discontent, which ranks first on the association's annual list.

The deposit commonly ranges from 99 to 299 yuan per person, but considering the numerous users, the total amount of money involved is quite considerable, said CCA.

The second most common complaints come from online shopping issues, which made up nearly 42% of the complaints in 2017.

Other key areas of complaints include gyms and beauty salon memberships, vehicle accessories, house decorations, as well as the education and postal sectors.

In 2017, the CAA processed 726,840 consumer complaints, of which 552,398 were resolved, recovering 516.39 million yuan for consumers, according to the report.
