On Thursday a man in Hangzhou donated his bone marrow stem cells to a leukemia patient who had received a transplant of his bone marrow three years ago, reports Hangzhou Daily.

Huang Gangfeng, an online store owner, successfully donated his hematopoietic stem cells to a young man with leukemia in late 2014. Unfortunately, the patient's disease relapsed three years later.

Hearing the bad news, Huang decided to donate his bone marrow for the second time to the patient who he has never met. After the cells were collected on Thursday morning, they were immediately transported to the hospital in Hebei Province where the patient was staying.

"I would like to give him all my wishes and hopes that he can recover," said Huang. "It's the only thing I hope for."

Huang joined in China Marrow Donor Program (CMDP) in 2005 and has volunteered in many donation-related services over the years that followed.
