New longer Fuxing bullet train being tested in Beijing
A new model of China's domestically-produced Fuxing bullet train is undergoing trials on a test line in eastern Beijing, reports the Beijing News.
The new train has 16 carriages - twice as many as those that are currently running on some of China's busiest high-speed train routes such as the Beijing-Shanghai and Xi'an-Chengdu lines.
Like the earlier models of the Fuxing, the 415-meter long train can reach a consistent speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
The new train will be able to carry up to 1,193 passengers.
