Over 300 representatives from around the world, including over 140 leaders of media outlets from more than 40 Asian countries and regions attended the event.

"Asian media needs to tell good stories about Asian people's innovation and creations, as well as international win-win cooperation, so as to play an optimistic role in promoting a better world and a better Asia," said Huang Kunming, head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, in a speech to the opening of the event.

Huang says Asian people have vivid innovation stories, and should be able to share their successful experiences and practices to help make the spirit of innovation part of popular culture in Asia.

"This year is the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening up. China's reform and development can be attributed to Asia, and is also benefiting Asia and the world. China will continue to work with Asia and the whole world to seek innovation and share development outcomes together," said Huang.
