Local government ordered to dispose garbage eco-friendly

A town-level government in Sichuan Province has been ordered by the court to dispose of the town's household garbage according to regulations, as well as to restore the environment which has been destroyed, reports thecover.cn.

The verdict has been issued by Tongjiang People's Court to the town of Zhicheng.

In response, the town-level government says they will fully implement the verdict to dispose the household garbage in an eco-friendly manner.

In November 2017, the People's Procuratorate of Tongjiang issued an administrative lawsuit for public welfare against the town of Zhicheng for pouring unclassified household garbage into local river banks since June last year.

This marks the first administrative lawsuit issued for public welfare in Sichuan.

It's reported that the Tongjiang county will raise up to 250 million yuan in three years to build nearly 30 garbage disposal plants and 1230 garbage collection sites.
