Chinese company conducts long-distance cryo-transfer
A biomedical research company has conducted what its touting as the country's first long-distance cryo-transfer.
Shandong Yinfeng Biological Group says it has been able to transfer the body of a 72-year old who died in hospital in the city of Tai'an in Shandong to the company's facilities in the provincial capital, Jinan.

To accomplish this, doctors treating the woman in the ICU at a hospital in Tai'an had to wait until the woman was officially declared dead.
Her body was then put through medical procedures to prepare her for long-term freezing.
The volunteer's body was then transferred in liquid nitrogen from Tai'an to Jinan at a temperature of minus-196 degrees Celcius.
Shandong Yinfeng Biological hopes to re-animate the woman after a cure for her lung cancer can one day be found.
