A couple in Guangxi's provincial capital Nanning eschewed the more traditional methods of transportation to their wedding such as a limousine, and instead opted for an environmentally-friendly option – they took the subway.

According to thepaper.cn, on Sunday afternoon the young couple, decked out in their wedding outfits and accompanied by 14 bridesmaids and groomsmen, headed to the subway station near the bride's home, and set off for the hotel booked for their wedding ceremony.

"My husband was the one who suggested that we take the subway rather than use a wedding car. We think it's quite cool, and reflects the life of modern young people. Even when we get old, we will still feel that our wedding was more than ordinary," said the 24-year-old bride.
