Dozens of bus drivers in Chongqing are going above and beyond the call of duty to help a man who needs to take the bus to hospital for dialysis three times a week, reports thepaper.cn.

Fifty four-year-old Huang Qiquan suffers from kidney disease, and has difficulty walking. Last August, he had a fall near the stop where he catches the bus to the hospital. A passerby and a bus driver on the route rushed to his aid.

It was after his fall that drivers on the route learned about Huang's story. His wife needs to take care of their son, who also has kidney disease, and so she doesn't have the time to take Huang to hospital.

The dozens of drivers who work the route used by Huang have teamed up to make sure that he makes it to his hospital appointments. They help him get on and off the bus, and have carried him on their back when it was raining and he was unable to walk. And they don't ask him for the bus fare - they pay for it out of their own pocket.
