Passengers can buy tickets for the express rail service using self-service ticket vending machines or at ticket offices at the West Kowloon station, or through travel agents, a sales hotline, or online.

The 26-kilometer-long Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High Speed Rail, starting from the West Kowloon Terminus, is financed by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and built by MTR. Test runs of the train service started in April.
