China ranks top on first tank competition day of Int'l Army Games

China won first place in the tank competition at the 2018 International Army Games, which was held in the range of Alabino, Russia, on July 28.

The first team in the tank contest included China, Kazakhstan, Uganda, and Kuwait. The Chinese team was the third one to set off, but the first one to pass the finish line, with a total time of 21 minutes 47 seconds. The Kazakhstan team took second place coming in at 24 minutes 41 seconds, followed by Kuwait with 39 minutes 59 seconds, while Uganda quit the game.

China's tank-607 drove steadily in the competition at a maximum of 71 km per hour, while its strongest competitor Kazakhstan team was at a maximum of 67 km per hour.

The IAG-2018 is held in seven countries, including China, Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, from July 28 to August 11. The International Army Games is an international military event launched by the Russian Ministry of Defense. The Chinese military has been invited for four consecutive years since 2014 to participate in the IAG and has hosted some of the contests since 2017.

This year's IAG will be undertaken by militaries of seven countries including China, Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Iran. The International Army Games 2018 has a total of 28 contests and four of them will be held in China. The Chinese delegation will compete for 18 contests abroad.
