A local court in Shanghai has fined 3 people 500,000 yuan (around 73,318 USD) for forging page views for several videos on a video website, reports CCTV.
The Shanghai's Xuhui District People's Court found that the three suspects used technology to create at least 950 million false page views for several videos between February 1 and June 1.
The number of page views affects advertising revenue for the video site.

Meantime, the video website will have to pay a certain amount of money to the copyright holders for each valid page view.
The court says the case is the first of its kind in China, and amounts to unfair competition. It was also labeled as being against commercial morals, according to the report.
