A program that allows new university arrivals to scan a QR code and pick a "shared" senior to assist with their freshman orientation has been rolled out in a campus in Sichuan Province, reports the newssc.org.

"By adopting the 'scan-to-go' model in the spirit of the 'sharing concept' that new students may enjoy, we decided to use this innovative approach to welcome the freshmen. It is very meaningful as we not only help the newcomers, but also portray a good image as seniors," said Wang Yucheng, a "shared" senior involved in the welcoming program.
