China and Russian's state-owned media organizations sign a strategic cooperation treaty

Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin have witnessed the signing of a strategic cooperation treaty between China Media Group and Rossiya Segodnya in Vladivostok.

Based on the treaty, the two sides will conduct pragmatic cooperation in exchanging, reporting and spreading the news to give more coverage to fields such as culture, economy and sports, and promote closer ties among the people of the two nations.

The two state-owned media organizations will also strengthen cooperation in the field of new media including the news app, social media and the internet.

More cooperation will also be conducted under the structure of the Media Council of Sino Russian friendship, peace and Development Committee.

Since its foundation in April, China Media Group has conducted multi-level cooperation with Russia's national and regional media organizations, including Rossiya Segodnya, VGTRK, Rossiyskaya Gazeta, RT and ITAR-TASS.
