"China remains a developing country and still has many weak links in infrastructure construction," Li said at the opening ceremony of the Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2018, known as Summer Davos, which was held in northern China's Tianjin Municipality. But he noted that China would not follow the old investment-reliant path.

Li said the government would increase supply of public goods and promote reasonable and effective investment.

China aims to resist the pressure from slowing investment and maintain stable infrastructure investment, rather than resorting to a deluge of strong stimulus policies, the premier said.
