China dispatches 160,000 traffic officers to ensure road safety in holiday

More than 160,000 traffic police officers have been dispatched across China to ensure road safety and smooth traffic flow during the week-long National Day holiday, the Ministry of Public Security said Wednesday.

Road traffic across the country has been generally in good order over the past three days, the ministry said in a statement.

However, traffic flow will remain at a high level Thursday, the ministry said. Drivers were advised to avoid peak hours and be aware of bad weather.
