UK and China should work together, breaking trade barriers: ambassador

British Ambassador to China Barbara Woodward says the UK pavilion at the China International Import Expo in Shanghai will showcase the country's most cutting-edge technologies and innovations.

30 British companies will exhibit their products at the Expo next week, focusing on health care, financial and professional services, education, creative industries, sport and energy, AI and Big Data.

Exhibitors include some well-known companies such as British Petroleum and pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), as well as start-ups showing their virtual reality (VR) technology.

Woodward also says that China and the UK should maintain cooperation at all levels in order to create more opportunities for the people and enterprises from both sides, stressing that the two countries should work together to break trade barriers.
