Application period is NOW OPEN for Africa-China 2018 Photography Competition, which is jointly held by China Plus, CNBC Africa and Global Max Media Group. 

Prizes

First Prize: 1 position 6000 Rand  

Second Prize: 1 position 3000 Rand

Third Prize: 1 position 1000 Rand

Application & Selection

Apply by sending a maximum of 4 photographs to africachinaphoto@hotmail.com between 5-20 November. Each photo must be accompanied by Name+Nationality+A short description of no more than 140 characters. 

The entries will be assessed by a panel of judges (50%) as well as the audience (50%) on the end of November, and ranked according to points. 

Note that we will conduct a preliminary screening before the awards selection committee meets.

Topics

Africa and China. 

The competition is open to images that matches this topic, from regional cultures and travel pho-tography to commercial work and photojournalism.

Entry eligibility

The competition is open to entries from throughout the world, of all backgrounds and experience levels. 

Participants must be at least 18 years of age.

Entry conditions

Photographs that are sexually explicit, violent and/or racist will not be considered for the Compe-tition.

Entries are limited to original photographic works that have not been selected for awards or dis-tinctions in other contests or competitions.

We cannot accept works that have been submitted to other contests or competitions that are still being judged.

Works that infringe upon third-party rights (copyrights, trademark rights, portrait rights, etc.) may not be submitted. Applicants are required to obtain prior permission from rights owners to enter photographic works that contain copyrighted or other protected materials (works of art, films, photos, music, etc.) owned by others.

The entries must be taken by the photographer him/herself. The description given to the photo-graphs must be correct, accurate and truthful. Any consequences caused by unlawful or incorrect use of photographs, shall be the responsibility of the photographer him/herself. 

Image data

The image size should be 1200 x 1600 pixels or larger (recommended). Up to 4 photos can be uploaded.

The recommended file format is JPEG with a resolution of 72 dpi or greater.

The colour space standard used in the judging process is sRGB.

Note: Contest winners may be asked to submit higher resolution image data for inclusion in the Contest publications and exhibitions.
