Wang had been vice chairman of the Jilin Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, according to the SPP statement.

The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China and National Supervisory Commission (NSC) announced in August last year that Wang was under investigation. He was expelled from the Party and dismissed from office on Jan. 19 for multiple violations.

The NSC has completed the investigation into his case and handed it over to prosecuting agencies, the statement said.
