Boeing now faces a global crisis following the tragic Ethiopian Airlines plane crash. China is among many countries to announce the grounding of all Boeing 737 Max 8 planes following the incident earlier this month. It was the second Max 8 to crash in five months following an incident in Indonesia involving a Lion Air plane. Be that as it may, China's domestic airplane market is still very much in need of the large passenger aircraft, not to mention that the decision to ground the Boeing planes does not come cheaply.

What's worth noting is that China has been developing its aviation industry in recent years and is preparing to launch its C919 aircraft.

Indeed, the Boeing incident has caused many people to focus on China's domestic airliners, and the Ethiopian Ambassador's actions are inevitably reminiscent of the recent air crash. However, in response to comments from netizens, the ambassador made it clear that his visit was "just a courtesy one and should not hint anything."
