China Media Group promotes Sino-Russia ties at St. Petersburg Forum

China Media Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Roscongress Foundation in St. Petersburg on Friday, alongside the release of a video series about the sister cities of Russia and China.

The agreement, which was witnessed by Wang Xiaohui, the deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, and Volin Alexei Konstantinovich, the deputy minister of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, will see the two organizations deepen their cooperation through the framework provided by the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and the Eastern Economic Forum. The two sides will enhance their exchanges of information, engage in cross-promotion, and provide audiences with objective news about China and Russia.

When speaking at the event, Shen Haixiong, the president of China Media Group, said media organizations in China and Russia should seek greater strategic cooperation, and have a more prominent shared global voice against the backdrop of stronger ties between the two countries.

The chairman and CEO of the Roscongress Foundation, Alexander Stuglev, said he appreciated the support provided by China Media Group for the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, and noted that cooperation between the two parties will be enhanced by the new agreement, which will also help to boost economic and cultural exchanges between China and Russia.

China Media Group also held a gathering to showcase a series of short 3D animated videos that were designed to introduce young people and netizens in China and Russia to sister cities of the two countries.

The video series will be released on the eve of China's National Day this year. It will be featured on the national television stations in China and Russia, along with their official websites and social media platforms.
