Data about the health of two earthquake victims was transmitted from ambulances near the site of the disaster to the Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital using a 5G network, allowing doctors at the hospital to assess their condition.

An employee with China Mobile said the new telemedicine technology, which was the result of collaboration between the hospital and China Mobile, can save much-needed time by allowing diagnosis and treatment to begin while the patient is on their way to hospital.
