Politicians and business leaders gathered at the Summer Davos meeting to explore ways of collaboration to tackle challenges as the world enters a new era of globalization.

The event's organizer says a new path featuring more openness, sustainability, and inclusiveness is necessary to explore a new model for global cooperation.

Sebastian Buckup is a member of the Executive Committee of the World Economic Forum.

"It is also the most international meeting that we've ever organized in China. More than 70 percent of the participants are from all over the world. There's the intent of this meeting to bring the world and bring China together. We are exploring new areas of collaboration."

With increasing uncertainties and instabilities across the globe, the world expects more ideas and proposals from China.

Dr. Roland Hartwig is a member of the foreign-affairs committee of Germany's legislative assembly.

He used to offer legal advice for German multinationals that have operations in China and he has been closely watching the country's economy.

He said proposals from China have come into the spotlight at the meeting.

"Over the past 30 years, I have been keeping taps on China's development, especially its achievement in economy, which is amazing. Now I'm a politician and my work is still focusing on China-related issues. I'm very interested in topics concerning China's current affairs and its future strategies. I think China is a focus of the 21st century. The 2019 Summer Davos in Dalian will show us what changes and influence China will bring to the world"

Hartwig added that collective efforts are necessary to confront the challenges posed by the global economy and geopolitical landscape.

"It's undeniable that the world is undergoing significant changes, from military to technology, covering a wide range of areas. Only by working together can we cope with the challenges and overcome difficulties rising from the process. We need to look at the big picture and find new ways to tackle various problems with respect for each other's social and culture diversity and mutual benefit."

The 2019 Summer Davos meeting kicked off in the Chinese city of Dalian, bringing together more than 1,800 politicians, business people and scholars from over 100 countries and regions.

Founder of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab said this year's forum focuses on the new era of globalization and explores how to set up a technology-oriented, more sustainable and inclusive cooperative system
